Center Medallion - After Lesson #4

Here is a picture of the Center Medallion of the Harvest Song Quilt 2009 to see how it will look after all the borders are added in Lesson #4. One of the other ladies in class had her quilt already to this point and graciously allowed me to take a picture of it.

Center Medallion - Finished

Okay ... I finished the Center Medallion and I'm very happy with the way it looks. My problem is that instead of a 36 1/2" square, mine is a perfect 37" square!!! Oh well ... I'll worry about it later. Now I will begin cutting fabric for Lesson #3 on Sunday.

Center Medallion Layout - All 36 Blocks

Now that all 36 blocks are finished, I laid them out on the floor while I checked the photo to make sure that each block was in exactly the right place. Then I labeled each block. Next step ... off to sew the blocks together using the Twosie-Foursie method!!!

Block #3 - All 20 Finished

Okay ... all 20 of Block #3 are finished ... next step ... putting all 36 blocks together!!!

Block #3 - 10 of 20 completed

It's 12:30 a.m. and I'm going to bed. So happy to have finished 10 of 20 for Block #3. Will begin again tomorrow!

Okay ... I'm making progress today ... here are all 20 block #3's after Step #5. Next they spilt into 2 groups of 10.

Monday Update

Hello!!
I will have pictures for you later on this week.
I have finished my homework for Harvest Song, sewed together and it measures almost the size it should be. Now i need to cut for Sunday's class, and from the looks of the sheet (It's a lot of cutting) I made 2 more market bags, not sure for whom though. Planning on making another purse like the one i gave my mom.. By the way she loved it!!

The T-Shirt Quilt for my brother, Zack, is finished!!!

Last night I finished the last 2-feet of binding on the T-Shirt Quilt for my brother, Zack. I already have plans to make another.

Who says you have to be Mexican to make Tamales?

Here is a picture of Milly and I making tamales. We remembered to take a picture for the blog, on our last 2 tamales. Hands only, after working all day we didn't look too hot!

This means no quilting has gone on around here.

Granpa put the tire on another tree

Marcel on the tire swing. This tree is also dying, looking for another good tree to hang it on. Don't want to put it on the oak tree!! He had so much fun, taken this afternoon.

Binding on T-Shirt Quilt

WOW ... I actually attached the binding to my t-shirt quilt last night (with only 1 call to Eleana) and starting "pinning" it over the back in preparation for hand-stitching. But I ran out of "pins" ... another trip to the store today and then I'll finish this step tonight. I am really enjoying getting through all the steps of a quilting project ... I feel like I am building my set of quilting skills. Thanks for all the support!!!
